Surabaya–Distribution of local films is facing its lowest point right now, with all the monopoly cinema system and limited number of alternative screens. As one fine way to clear the distribution problem in Indonesian film industry as well as fulfilling the needs of enjoying diverse movies, Buttonijo appeared with numerous film distribution program. And to introduce the programs to the market, Buttonijo will hold a series of workshops in Indonesia's major cities.
First one will be in Surabaya on Sunday, September 27th 2015, at Ruang Halle – Wisma Jerman, Jl. Taman AIS Nasution No. 15. Film "The Jak” by directors Andi Bachtiar Yusuf and Amir Pohan will be the main attention of this workshop, and will be played in three sessions. A talkshow with theme “Distribusi Film” will complete the workshop and held at the end of the day.
The discussion will focus on Indonesia's films current problem: distribution. We all know that 242 cinemas in 48 cities are not enough to fulfill everybody's needs, as most films played on those cinemas are producer-requested and sometimes don't meet what audiences want. Everybody's needs of watching films is different, and therefore, different films with alternative way of distribution is crucially needed.
Buttonijo will talk a lot about those issues not only from the discussion itself, but from the whole series of the workshop. Because the workshops, the screenings, and of course the distribution programs initiated by Buttonijo, are obvious ways to help solving local film problems.
