Pada paruh akhir film kita mengintip potongan-potongan kehidupan domestik dalam sebuah rumah modern dengan aksesoris Jawa; istri melayani suami, suami asyik sendiri, istri merawat anak.
Basbeth sadar betul bahwa sinema adalah realita bentukan—bahwasanya ketika pembuat film merekam subjek yang sangat riil sekalipun, pada akhirnya subjek itu tetap dibingkai dalam perspektif yang pembuat film inginkan. Realita film tidak akan pernah setara dengan realita kita. Realita yang lentur ini memungkinkan penjelajahan estetis seliar-liarnya—legenda nusantara mash up dengan ikon-ikon budaya pop. Alhasil, yang biasa menjadi luar biasa, yang luar biasa menjadi biasa.
